Prism
This snazzy quilt is constructed using scrappy colored Split Rectangle units
(rectangles with a diagonal seam dividing them). The pattern emerges with the
combination of left and right leaning units strategically placed. Just for an extra bit
of pizzazz, some of the Split Rectangles have Double Diagonal seams with a dark
pop of color added. Project size: 62” x 72”
Skill level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate

instructor during class, or is available at your local quilt shop

Requirements: SUPPLY LIST AND PRE-CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS The Split Rects Tool is required for this pattern. This tool is available from the instructor during class, or at Nashua Sew and Vac. Fabric: 10 Assorted fat quarters or straight quarter yard pieces Background (avoid directional fabric): 2 1/4 yards Accent: 5/8 yard Border #1: 1/2 yard Border #2: 1/3 yard Border #4 and Binding: 1 1/2 yards You will need to pre-cut: - From each of the 10 assorted fat quarters, cut 2 strips 7in x 20in **OR** From each of the 10 straight quarter yard pieces, cut one strip 7in x WOF - From the Background Fabric: - Cut 10 strips 7in x WOF - Cut 1 strip 3 1/3in x WOF - Subcut into 4 rectangles 3 1/2in x 6 1/2in and 4 squares 3 1/2in x 3 1/2in - From the Accent Fabric: - Cut 4 strips 4 1/2in x WOF - From the Border #1: - Cut 6 strips 2 1/2in x WOF - From the Border #2: - Cut 6 strips 1 1/2in x WOF - From the Border #4: - Cut 6 strips 4 1/2in x WOF Bring whatever extra fabric you have, just in case of mis-cuts. Coordinating or neutral piecing thread Rotary cutter with fresh blade Cutting mat Masking tape or blue painter's tape Sewing machine, clean and oiled, with new needle, 1/4in foot Basic sewing supplies: fabric scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc. Pencil and pad for notes Optional Small iron and pressing surface If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at Kathie @KathieBeltz.com.
