Scalloped Tote Bag and Clutch Set



A pretty scalloped edge is featured on this Tote and matching Clutch. This is made perfect and easy with a set of precut Bosal placemats. The Tote is generously sized at 16” x 11.5” x 3” with a full front pocket. The matching Clutch is 8.5” x 5” x .5” with an inner zipper pocket and outside back pocket.

Supply List: 
Fabric for Tote: 
   Main (front pocket, back, handles) 2/3 yd
   Top 1/2 yd.
   Lining 1/2 yd.
Fabric for Clutch:
    Main (lower edge, back pocket) 1/3 yd
    Top Flap 1 fat eighth
    Lining  (included zipper pocket)
Pattern Required: Poorhouse Quilt Designs PQD- 224 (available at NSV)
Foam- 4 precut placemats Bosal 493- BAG  (available at NSV)
Medium weight fusible interfacing -
two 40” x 5”
One 14” or longer synthetic zipper for Clutch 
Two Magnetic sew on snaps - one for each (available at NSV)
One 5/8” or 3/4” swivel snap hook & D ring for Clutch 
Two pieces of template plastic or file folders 
Temporary Fabric Marking pencil or pen
Microtex Sharp 80/12 Machine needle 
Topstitch 100/10 Machine needle
Rotary Cutter, mat & ruler
Zipper foot, walking foot, open toe foot
Wonder clips or binder clips
Pins
Non-stick pressing sheet
Point turner 
Fray Block 
Sewing Machine
Thread to match fabric

Please precut and label fabrics - easy to get confused.
Note: I only used two fabrics for my set. If you change the placement of your fabrics you may require more fabric.
TOTE:
Main: Two 13” x 18” (outsides - top)
           Two 5” x WOF strips (handles)
Top:   Two 13” x 18” (outside of pocket and pocket lining)
Lining: Two 13” x 18” (lining of tote)
Interfacing: Two 5” x 40” (for handle)
CLUTCH: 
Top Flap: One  10” x 6”
Main: Two  10” x 8” (lower outside, back pocket
Lining: One 10” x 13.5” (inside - zipper pocket is stitched to this)
Four 8” x 4” (zipper pocket)
