Serger Christmas Bowtie Pillow
Use your serger to create a dimensional bowtie pillow for the holidays. You will use a cording/piping foot to create a piped edge and install a zipper. This is a great project for those of you who want to get more comfortable with your serger.
Supplies:
8- 5” squares of background fabric- green fabric in photo
12 – 5” squares of bowtie fabric- light fabric in photo
21” square of fabric for the pillow back – I used the background fabric
2 ½ yds of 2” wide strip for piping
2 ½ yds of 3/16” piping cord
Fabric glue stick
24” or longer zipper to match fabric
4 spools serger thread to match fabric
pillow form- 18" square- I usually wait until I finish my pillow before buying the pillow insert- sometimes I like it a bit bigger than the actual pillow
Serger in good working condition
Foot pedal and power cord
Piping/cording foot
Fabric Clips
Fabric marker- chalkoliner or Frixion pen
