SATURDAY CLASS - Beginner Quilting
This class is for those who have some machine stitching experience and working knowledge of their machine. You will learn some of the basics of quilting – piecing and sewing patchwork, adding a border, creating a “quilt sandwich”, planning and executing quilting, and how to add a binding.
We will be creating a table topper in class - Finished Size- 24” x 24”
The class will be held from 10:30-3:30 – feel free to bring a lunch or snack with you!
Supplies:
- Sewing machine in good working order
- ¼” quilting/piecing foot
- Open Toe Foot for quilting
- 50 wt. Cotton Thread color of your choice – Aurifil Thread recommended – available at Nashua Sew and Vac
- Fabric
- Charm Pack of your choice
- ¾ yard coordinating fabric for backing – precut to 27” square
- ¼ yard coordinating fabric for border – precut to (3) 2.5” x width of fabric strips
- ¼ yard coordinating fabric for binding – precut to (3) 2.5” x width of fabric strips
- Light batting (not fusible) – cut to 26” square
- Basic Sewing Notions (scissors, pins, etc.)
- Rotary Cutter
- Small cutting mat, if you have one
- Extension Table, if you have one
