Rope Sewing - Round Bread Basket for All Seasons with Napkins
In this class, you will be learning/reviewing the basic techniques of making a round rope bowl on your domestic sewing machine and how to add bowl handles. You will have the option of adding some decorative stitching to your bowl, if your machine has that capability.
We will also be making a set of 4 different reversible seasonal napkins for the bread basket.
The class will run from 10:00 – 3:00. Please feel free to bring a snack or lunch.
On the day of the class, you will need to purchase a kit for this project for $55.00.
The kit will include:
- Precut fabric for (4) reversible napkins
- Rope - 100’ of ¼” All Cotton Solid Braid
- Aurifil 50wt. cotton thread – Natural White 1422 yards
- Class Kit
- Your own sewing machine with zig-zag capability in good working order
(we can help you carry it in and out)
- Open toe foot, ¼” foot
- 2 Bobbins for white thread
- Optional – if you are adding decorative stitching
- Colored thread – Aurifil 50 wt cotton thread – available at Nashua Sew and Vac for purchase
- 1 Bobbin for colored thread
- Pkg of Denim/Jeans Needles 90/14 and Topstitch Needles 90/14
- Scissors to cut your rope
- Small embroidery scissors or snips
- Sewing Pins – Extra Fine, if you have them (Magic Pins are great)
- Tape Measure
- Scotch Tape
- Point Turner (great to have)
