Santa's Workshop Oval Rope Basket for All Seasons with Four Seasonal Napkins
As part of the Rope Bowl Adventures series, Santa’s Workshop will be offering an opportunity to grow your rope sewing experience by introducing you how to sew an oval basket. You must have some rope sewing experience to attend this class, as the oval shape is more advanced.
The class will run from 10:00 – 3:00.
We will be making a set of 4 different reversible seasonal/holiday napkins for the bread basket.
You will be learning/reviewing the basic techniques of making an oval shaped rope bowl on your domestic sewing machine, adding integrated napkin corner “holders”, and, completing the bowl with a loop and tassel finish.
On the day of the class, you will need to purchase a kit for this project for $55.00.
The kit will include:
- Precut fabric for (4) reversible napkins
- Rope - 100’ of ¼” All Cotton Solid Braid
- Aurifil 50wt. cotton thread – Natural White 1422 yards
- Class Kit
- Your own sewing machine with zig-zag capability in good working order

- Open toe foot, zig-zag foot, ¼” foot
- Zig-Zag Plate
- Single Stitch Plate (nice to have)
- 2 Bobbins
- Pkg of Denim/Jeans Needles 90/14 and Topstitch Needles 90/14
- Scissors to cut your rope
- Small embroidery scissors or snips
- Sewing Pins – Extra Fine, if you have them (Magic Pins are great)
- Tape Measure
- Point Turner (great to have)
