Edge to Edge Quilting with Maurine Henry

In this class Maurine Henry will show you how to do Edge to Edge Quilting on your embroidery machine. This is to learn how to achieve an allover design so you can complete a quilt successfully on your own.
Materials
6 – 5” squares of feature fabric*
6 – 10” squares of coordinating tonal fabrics*
2 – 1” WOF strips of fabric for inner sashing
3 – 2 ½” WOF strips of sashing fabric for outside
border
3 – 2 ¼” WOF strips of either sashing fabric or tonal
fabric for binding
(You may want to use 2 ½” strips for binding,
your preference)
24” X 35”, or larger, fabric for back
24” X 35”, or larger, cotton batting
Matching thread for sewing
Machine Quilting Thread
Ruler, rotary cutter, binding clips/pins, safety pins(for layering) or temporary spray adhesive
*To save time in class please fold the squares of fabric in half (side to side) press, then fold in half again (side
to side), press. This process creates crease lines for centering your blocks.
Other needed items
Computer with Dime software installed (Dime Tool Shed [free],) (My Quilt Planner, Edge to Edge plug in are
optional but extremely helpful)
Amilee Scott’s “Edge to Edge Pro” book with files loaded on to your computer (optional if you have the edge
to edge plug in or other resizable Amilee Scott edge to edge files on your computer.)
Embroidery Machine with hoops (Dime monster magnet hoop (360 X 200) or other magnetic hoop is
preferable but not required)
Memory stick for transferring files from computer to embroidery machine

¼” foot and embroidery foot for machine
Bobbins for your machine loaded with sewing and quilting threads
During this class you will create the pictured runner. Participants will plan and implement an edge to edge
quilting design that will fit within the parameters of the runner you complete.
During the class participants will:
? create the pictured runner,
? use the Dime Tool Shed software to plan the placement and size of your edge to edge quilt
design with or without borders.
? save the information to a memory stick using your machine’s desired format.
? position your layered runner for quilting using techniques such as precise positioning and other
tips presented by Maurine.
