Hoopsisters Spring Retreat Cherry Blossom Wall Hanging

The Hoopsisters Cherry Blossom Tree is one of three projects in the Spring design collection which includes a gardening apron, flower pot cover, and additional gardening related designs. This wall hanging finishes at 12 x 42 inches. This is a single block size project. The hoop must be able to accommodate 6 x 7 inches (153 x 179 mm). Unlike most Hoopsister projects the blocks are not executed to include the back at the time of embroidery. Instead  Hoopsisters Battilizer is hooped, the block completed, the blocks sewn together, backing added to back, stitch in the ditch, and bind to finish. The embroidery designs include two other projects.

SUPPLIES

Embroidery Machine in good working order, embroidery unit, hoop with minimum field of 150 x 180

Embroidery Designs for Construction and quilting

USB Drive capable of accepting designs and delivering to your machine

1 yd x 27 inches - Steam-A-Seam Lite or Heat N Bond Lite

60 wt Bobbin thread

50 wt Construction thread for sewing blocks together

Needles – Suggest both 80 Microtex and 90 Topstitch

Straight pins, quilt clips

4” curved scissors for trimming applique ( not duck bill)

Seam ripper

Temporary spray adhesive, KK2000 or 505

Painters tape or alternative

PROJECT SPECIFIC SUPPLIES – If you are using cottons they should be starched or starch alternative. If silk or other similar fabric then they should be fused with knit back.

Embroidery thread; quilting for background, tree applique matching fabric, tree bark two shades darker, rolling hills deeper or lighter, flower darker than fabric, center and accent for flower
