Join Debby in making this beautiful Celtic inspired quilt. We will be running this as a 5 Month program plus a bonus “Put-Together” Class. The quilt is majorly done as applique and repeats the design amongst the four quadrants. You can elect to do 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 inch squares depending on the size of your hoop. The optional border is not part of the directed program. There is no better way than to learn the embroidery side of your machine than to participate in a Hoopsisters quilt.
Also please note due to scheduling conflicts, one of the classes is on Tuesday.
USB stick to receive monthly information as well as load design files. Machine in good working order. Embroidery Unit. Both sensor-matic foot and spring foot if available. Hoop large enough to accommodate the selected block size. Battilizer, optional additive-batting if desired (wool or Soft & Bright), 60 wt. bobbin thread, water soluble thread, embroidery thread, extra bobbins, small tipped scissors for applique, sharp fine seam ripper, tweezers, lint roller, 80 embroidery, microtex needles, or 80 or 90 topstitch needles. Temporary spray adhesive. NOTE: If you have elected NOT to use Battilizer you will need to use Whisper Web or No Show Mesh in addition to the batting.
For Month One: In addition to the above supplies, bring two squares (for applique fabric) cut 1inch greater than the desired size finished block, two squares (for background fabric) cut 1inch greater than the desired size finished block, and two squares (for backing fabric) cut 1inch greater than the desired size finished block. If using the additional wool or poly batting bring two squares of the batting. For Month One if you have not selected your final fabrics for the quilt just bring along contrasting fabrics for the applique and ground fabrics and any backing fabric. It is advisable to starch the applique fabric in particular.
